Zenitel Board of Directors Promotes Kenneth Dåstøl CEO

Zenitel, a global leader and supplier of their own STENTOFON® and VINGTOR® brand of communication systems as well as a system integrator of radio communication systems from leading suppliers, has promoted Kenneth Dåstøl as chief executive officer and president of the company. He will assume the office and join the Board of Directors on January 1, 2010. Dåstøl will succeed Eugene Beckers, who has served as Zenitel’s chief executive officer since January 2008 and will now be chairman of the board.

Kenneth DåstølDåstøl began working for Zenitel in November 2000 and has held senior leadership positions with a range of experience from finance to management. Kenneth started with the company as financial director and business unit controller for CSS. In 2003 he was promoted to executive vice president for the expanding Marine Division. Another promotion in 2005 positioned him as executive vice president overseeing sales for America, Asia and Europe. In 2007, Dåstøl was promoted to manage the Secure Communications Systems (SCS) Division - the largest and most profitable sector of the corporation.

“There have been numerous and significant changes in the company since I started. Overall the company is consolidating and becoming more efficient while we’re seeing more growth in the intercom business,” said Dåstøl. “From the product side I think we have been extremely successful over the past four years. The SCS division has been a profitable business while the strategy of moving towards IP has given us a strong global market position. Being the only true native IP intercom provider gives us endless possibilities for the future.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this company,” Dåstøl continued. “We not only have the highest quality systems available but a strong service and support system for our customers. My goal is to refocus our efforts and attention on those core capabilities that will make us the top critical communication provider globally. As the world changes we must continue to be flexible and build on our feature rich systems while continually seeking better solutions for our diverse customer base. I think the next couple of years will be more challenging as it is now up to us to implement and follow this strategy. We have three primary areas to grow; onshore intercom, marine intercom and wireless solutions. We have expansion opportunities in the U.S., Europe and other parts of the world and will continue to develop and meet those market requirements.”
