Environmental Policy
Zenitel is an ISO 14001 certified company. An ISO 14001 environmental management system is a systematic and process driven approach to controlling those aspects of your business that have a significant impact on the environment. The system is proven to make business owners and managers be more aware of their environmental responsibilities, including legal and regulatory accountabilities, and being able to manage and control the associated risks.
Zenitel complies with the European WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive for environmental conservation, ensuring that discarded equipment is recycled appropriately. Zenitel is focused on a better and cleaner environment and is committed to the goals of the RoHS (Restriction on use of Hazardous Substances) directive ensuring all products meet applicable requirements.
Zenitel Norway complies with the REACH European Directive N 1907/2006 related to the registration, evaluation and authorization of chemicals to protect human life and the environment. Manufacturers and importers are required to submit information on the properties of their chemical substances to allow for safe handling and registration. REACH Regulation also calls for the progressive substitution of dangerous chemicals when suitable alternatives are available.
Globally, suppliers, distributors and customers are encouraged to conduct business in an environmentally responsible manner. Zenitel Marine complies with the IMO resolution A.962 Clean Design/Green Passport by documenting all materials in a vessel’s construction that may be hazardous to humans or the environment.
Quality Assurance
Zenitel Norway AS quality assurance is in compliance with the ISO9001:2015 standard is a requirement throughout the Zenitel organization which is audited by independent accreditation organizations. In addition, Zenitel Norway AS is IECEx and ATEX certified, with complying equipment used in explosive environments

Human Rights Policy
Our approach
Zenitel conduct our business consistently with the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and has incorporated the ten principles of the UN Global Compact. We also respect applicable standards of international humanitarian law.
This policy sets out the principles for how we relate to our employees, consultants, suppliers, business partners and other stakeholders. We will avoid infringing on the human rights of others and address adverse human rights impacts with which we are involved. We will be particularly attentive to the human rights we are at risk of impacting most and to the people most vulnerable to adverse impacts. Through our company values, we seek to involve each other, respecting, appreciating, and leveraging our diversity. Code of conduct e-learning is mandatory for all Zenitel employees.

Respecting all internationally recognised human rights, in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and in particular;

What we do

• We expect our suppliers and business partners to share our commitment to respect all internationally recognised human rights, when working for or together with us
• We expect all our suppliers and business partners to pay particular attention to the human rights they are at risk of impacting most and to the human rights of people most vulnerable to adverse impacts, including women, children, migrant workers and indigenous peoples
• We want our business partners to commit to the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Right
• We will make this policy available to all by adding it to our website, and incorporate it in our Code of conduct.
• We will provide or cooperate, including with our suppliers and business partners, in providing appropriate remediation to individuals, workers and local communities, where we have caused or contributed to adverse human rights. To such effect, we will also, where relevant, provide or cooperate in effective grievance mechanisms.
• We make sure that all recruitment processes are non-biased. We will not exclude any candidates due to age, gender, religion, disabilities etc.
• Diversity in our work force is an integrated part of our personnel policy.
Should any breach of such rights happen, all Zenitel employees are expected to use the procedure Raising an integrity concern to report the breach.

Globally, Zenitel supports several charities, including contributions to the Norwegian Cancer Society, UNICEF and the Red Cross.
