Vingtor-Stentofon Intercom Suite (VS-IS)

Do More - Out of the box

A major step forward in delivering the best experience in IP Intercom and Public Address, especially for SIP and Pulse solutions.

Vingtor-Stentofon Intercom Suite (VS-IS) is a unified approach to new firmware, software and technologies. VS-IS is not a product or solution, nor is it a system or platform. Instead, it is a combined release including firmware for our IP intercom devices, software for PCs and frameworks for using our devices (e.g., AlphaCom XE/Pulse/SIP, Licensing, Integrations).

VSIS four componentsVS-IS brings four components together:

  • Firmware for devices to enable compatibility with and functionality for a range of platforms.
  • Platforms, which differ in functionality and structure. AlphaCom XE, Pulse and SIP need to be supported by the devices.
  • Licenses for features on each of the platforms.
  • Features, which vary by device and are controlled by the licenses.

A change to any one of these four will have an impact on the other three. This is why we created VS-IS - to reflect the combined effort on these releases.

Key features in VS-IS 4.7

The VS-IS 4.7 release not only contains significant improvements in software, firmware, and hardware, but also represents a huge step forward for Zenitel in meeting the increased demand for future-proof, secure, flexible, integrated systems – without compromising on audio quality/intelligibility.

Vingtor-Stentofon Intercom Suite 4.7

New SIP and Pulse licensing: All functions for stations in SIP mode are now free of licensing costs. Pulse licensing has been greatly simplified, including the removal of all client licenses.

Pulse system: Up to 64 Vingtor-Stentofon stations are supported and multiple-LAN-segment support within a single system. Group Call is enhanced with an Answer (meet me) function and improved to support 3rd-party SIP phones. We also deliver better integration with iPBX systems, including Asterisk and our own AlphaCom XE.

SIP and Pulse IP-PA functions: New Turbine Audio messages function can play a recorded message on a specific call or I/O event. We have extended our DAK capabilities for more efficient IP-PA announcements.

ECPIR-3P Pulse and SIP support: You can now use the Exigo Call Panel with the Exigo Button Expansion Module as a Pulse master station with some advanced call handling capabilities. The station is also fully supported in SIP mode.

New TFIE-6 Industrial Display Station: We have implemented software support for new TFIE-6 industrial display IP station with menu navigation, address book and DAK keys. Support for AlphaCom, Pulse and SIP.

New ITSV-1 Video Touch Phone: We have implemented software support for our new ITSV-1 video touch station. The device is recognized as a Vingtor-Stentofon station in Pulse systems. Pulse Group Call w/ Answer (meet me) function is supported. TCIV H.264 video call in both Pulse and SIP mode is supported, MJPG for AlphaCom mode.

Turbine Compact Video: Improvements are implemented in our TCIV video intercom stations for image performance in very low-light-environment conditions. A new 960p resolution for H.264 is added, with a 4:3 full frame scale. Optimizations have been made for call and stream delay - for both H.264 and MJPG.

Audio: Enhancements have been made for Automatic Volume Control, so it is more self-regulating and efficient in very noisy environments. We have introduced a Digital Audio Squelch function on Far-End audio, for noise suppression on the speaker – if the signal energy is below a configurable threshold level. The line-out stream can now be configured with mic signal before or after the Acoustic Echo Canceller. You can now control the external audio feed with input action.

Network and security: We have added mass configuration of 802.1x settings from VS-IMT, as well as functionality in the VS-IMT to handle VLAN network settings for multiple INCA stations at once. Advanced network settings (802.1x, SNMP, Firewall) are enabled on the StationWeb and VS-IMT, for IP stations in Pulse mode. IP stations now support using SNMP Informs for integration with network management systems.

New SIP headers are supported: Listen-In call activation, Call-priority control, Volume Control (per call), Auto-answer (per call). Virtual I/O and scripting capabilities are now extended, with additional event and scripting functions. You can now control relays from the Web Call interface. We have introduced support for Secure SIP – SIP TLS and SRTP. A new solution with TCIA-2 and TKIA-2 brings true physical secure isolation for environments where secure communication must never be compromised.

Turbine IP Stations: You can now directly edit the Turbine Address Book on StationWeb or as part of mass-configuration from VS-IMT. You can activate the Ring from the Address Book, as well. TCIx-6 IP stations now have default call destination option. Ring list configuration is expanded with more entries and an individual timeout option.

We have added new PTT functions and extended DAK with more functions: Open Group Call, Forwarding, Conversation Mode Control, Volume Control, Call Transfer, Hold Call, PTT, Call Stand-by, and more. Inputs As Key Matrix function can be used when the user needs more buttons/relays than possible with the number of available GPIOs – you can use it as a keyboard matrix to add more DAKs.

INCA IP Stations: Ringtone volume and frequency customization is now supported. We have expanded ring list configuration, with more entries and an individual timeout option.

VS-Client: Pulse Group Call is now supported in VS-Client, with recall and replay functions. Windows 10 support has been added.

VS-IMT: We have completely redesigned the configuration tools inside the Vingtor-Stentofon Intercom Management Tool (VS-IMT), so it is now possible to configure multiple stations at once, with a common set of settings from both Wizard and Main window (with multi-select). File upload and download is also supported (audio messaging files, address book, SNMP configuration, etc.).

VS-IMT Profile management is completely redesigned and greatly simplified. We have added functionality to detect IP stations that did not successfully finish the firmware upgrade process. You can now use VS-IMT for upgrades with Exigo firmware images.

VS-SDK for Pulse: We have added support for connection and remote control of stations in SIP mode. VS-SDK for Pulse now comes as a bundle with VS-IMT and VS-Client.

Turbine Multi-Conferencing for AlphaCom: We have added conferencing functionality for receiving and mixing up to 6 Simplex Conferences.

All software is available from our AlphaWiki. All Turbine and INCA IP stations are ready for upgrade to VS-IS 4.7 software, and our VS-IMT upgrade tool should make the process straightforward.
