Ascom and Zenitel in Nordic partner agreement
Two of the Nordic Region’s strongest players in handling critical communication are now expanding their partnership. The two have been working together in Norway, and the rest of the Nordic countries are now included in the partner agreement. This means that the range of Ascom’s solution offerings will increase significantly. Ascom has done a frame agreement for delivery of communication solutions from Zenitel to schools in Oslo, Norway. Until now, 50 schools have installed the communication solutions.
Collaboration is an obvious choice for Ascom and Zenitel. The two companies both have several years of experience in the critical communication field. Ascom have experience in communication directly to telephones and Zenitel with communication through speaker systems. The big potential for synergy between the two product portfolios gives Ascom the possibility to offer added value to existing customers and a possibility to reach new ones.
“Zenitel’s target group is broad and includes all clients in need of a speaker solution for direct communication in emergencies. An example is evacuation of schools or shopping malls, which are segments where Ascom isn’t represented today. In these segments, we can add valuable knowledge and expertise. Additionally, we get the chance to offer two-way communication through speakers, which is a part of the solutions we are offering hospitals, correctional institutions and industry. Sectors where we often meet Zenitel. Now we can give a combined delivery,” said Rune Roed Schøler, Portfolio Manager in Ascom Nordic.
Ascom Sweden and Zenitel have been collaborating in cell communication solutions for correctional institutions the last few years. They are now expanding, including all of Zenitel’s products and segments in the deal.
“Zenitel is a very professional partner, and we are excited to be working even closer. All of our suppliers, project managers and technicians have been trained to use the Zenitel products, and we have already made the first deals in several segments,” said Roed Schøler, pointing out that the connection between Zenitel’s products and Ascoms wireless phones in a joint communication platform is very interesting for the market.
This is the first Nordic agreement Zenitel has made, and they are seeing the benefits from working with the same partner all over the Nordic Region.
“The Nordic perspective is absolutely interesting. It’s easier and more efficient to have the same partner, and it gives both parties the possibility to take advantage of each other’s expertise across borders. When we have developed an integration for a customer in one country, it can be re-used in the equivalent segment in other countries. Furthermore, it’s very attractive to have access to Ascom’s big market shares in Sweden and Denmark. In the same way as we’re opening up for exciting opportunities for Ascom in our markets. It’s clear that both parties gain from the collaboration,” said Runar Holm, Area Sales Manager in Zenitel.
