Vingtor-Stentofon played a vital part in the Space Shuttle Environmental Test of the Crew and Thermal Systems Division of NASA's Johnson Space Center in the 90's.
Travelling to space requires a vast amount of equipment of which communication is one of the most important. Naturally the Vingtor-Stentofon station was something the astronauts at the training facility mentioned by name.
