World first Sound Reception System to meet ISO14589:2012 requirements

Vingtor-Stentofon is proud to announce that our Sound Signal Reception System (VSS), the VSS-V2, is the world first to meet the requirements of ISO14589:2012, approved by DNV.

Zenitel Marine, supplier of onboard communication equipment, makes sure to meet the latest requirements again. Vingtor-Stentofon is the first brand that offers an ISO14589:2012 certified Sound Signal Reception system, type approved by DNV.

At this moment, DNV is the only certification authority that requires the new ISO regulations. DNV will not give new certifications to Sound Signal Reception systems that do not follow the ISO14589:2012 demands. By achieving the first certificate since the change in regulations, Zenitel Marine shows a fast adaptation to the market.

A Sound Signal Reception system is an acoustical, electronic navigational aid that monitors sounds of other vessels or fog horns.
