About you

You are educated in design (product, interaction, or equivalent) at bachelor's or master's level and have experience from practically relevant work in interaction design. You are enthusiastic, curious and interested in the subject and have a well-developed aesthetic sense.

You put the user first and can independently and together with others carry out user tests, design workshops, interviews and user surveys. You can take responsibility for collecting and understanding user needs and problems, and visualize and describe these for the rest of the team.

You are skilled at idea and concept development. From good, communicating sketches to digital and physical prototypes. You have a keen eye for detail, but do not lose track of the big picture. You can deliver quick iterations to solve specific work tasks, but also think long-term and see how products and services should develop over time. And you often have experience in organizing and managing design teams and work.

The work will consist of planning, structuring and developing digital and physical user interfaces for Zenitel's products. Examples of tasks: understand user needs, structure content, prepare wireframes and prototypes (paper and digital), deliver "pixel-perfect" graphic design and code-finished solution in Slint.

It is an advantage if you have experience with coding or implementing graphical user interfaces through frameworks such as Slint, Qt, CSS or similar. We use Slint, and want designers to be directly involved in the implementation of front-end code.

About us

Our design team is divided between Zenitel's offices in Oslo (Torshov) and Horten. The workplace for this position can be in Oslo or Horten. Today, the team consists of 12 designers and engineers. We work both with further development of existing products and new development of completely new solutions.

We design all parts of our products ourselves – electronics, software, user interfaces and mechanics – and can therefore shape the entire user experience from start to finish. We believe this makes it extra exciting – and quite unique – to work with us.

We use Figma and Adobe as design tools. We implement user interfaces in Slint. We also have our own prototype and test lab and manufacture most of our products in Europe.

Responsibilities
 Design of PAVA system including 19” rack layout and connectivity
 Design of PAVA control system via single and networked workstations
 Configuration of IP Public Address & Voice Alarm systems to interface with Control
Systems
 Produce project-specific documentation (system design, test and handover)
 Support rack production process including system test
 Document and Manage Factory Acceptance Testing of systems
 Understand the company processes, and work within them
 Design and support customer upgrade and migration plans
 Support the commissioning of the system in it’s final location where required

Key Responsibilities 

• Be the Sales team's technical solution expert, understanding all existing and upcoming products and solutions and introduce these both internally (to sales team, project team and others) and externally (to customers) in different ways to fit requirements from the market.
• Very close link to the company's Product Management team to get all needed product and solution information in order to keep Sales and Customers up to date on any important changes in our offering.

As a Project Engineer at Zenitel, you will be involved in the design, engineering, and commissioning of PAGA systems for our partners and customers within our Maritime & Energy Business Unit. Your primary focus will be on offshore platforms and onshore facilities.

You will become part of a team of highly skilled and dedicated technicians and engineers who work together to deliver high-quality PAGA systems. As a member of our team, you will play a key role in the continued development and growth of our audio systems business.

The position is based in Kristiansund, Norway.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineering of PAGA systems
• Participate in the testing and configuration of our PAGA systems
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) together with customers
• Liaise with and follow up suppliers
• Contribute throughout the entire project lifecycle, from receipt of a customer order through to final delivery of the PAGA system

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Automation, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience will be viewed positively and may compensate for lower formal qualifications.
• Competence in IP networking and network technologies
• Offshore certification and offshore experience are advantageous
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Norwegian and English
