ONVIF - the Open Network Video Interface Forum

ONVIF (the Open Network Video Interface Forum) is a global and open well-recognized industry forum with the goal of facilitating the development and use of a global open standard for the interface of physical IP-based security systems and products.

ONVIF creates a standard for how IP products within video surveillance and other physical security areas can communicate with each other. The ONVIF specification aims to achieve interoperability between network video products regardless of manufacturer.

ONVIF concerns itself with standardization of communication between IP-based physical security products to achieve open interoperability between equipment from different manufacturers. Learn more on ONVIF Website.

Device discovery

Zenitel devices are auto-discovered by the security management system and added to the system tree, which makes installation easy and quick.

Video streaming

Through ONVIF, Zenitel video stations will act as any other camera in your security management system, enabling you to view live video, record and play back recordings.

Supported in all modes

The features are available independently of the station running in SIP, IC-EDGE or ICX-AlphaCom mode, making integrations easy for all system types.

Automated events and notifications

Through DeviceIO events on Zenitel devices, such as the  call button press and call answered, are sent to the security management system’s event server. From there you can create alarms and trigger actions for security personnel to respond.

Recording

Video and audio from our devices can be recorded in the security management system, either manually or based on events.

Audit trail

Zenitel devices report events to the security management system’s log server, providing an audit trail of call events and recordings.

Two-way audio

Streaming audio from and to our devices in the security management system brings high-quality audio into the control room, enhancing the security and operational effectiveness of a site and building. Using two-way audio capabilities, such as push to talk, ambient listening and audio recording you enhance the monitoring aspects of security cameras by adding sound context, access control, and visitor management via voice. Alarms are enhanced  by adding audio alerts and announcements.

All Zenitel’s TCIV+ stations are ONVIF conformant and all audio-only devices from our Turbine range of stations, kits, and IP-speakers are ONVIF compatible.
