What is a Sound Reception System?
Sound reception systems are electronic acoustical navigational aids that enable the ship’s crew to hear audio signals generated from outside an enclosed bridge. The sound reception system is installed as an aid for look-out as required by the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREG), 1972 standards. Sound reception systems can also be installed on vessels lacking fully enclosed bridges.

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration plans to have all ferries run on pure electric propulsion by 2030. In Norway, this is called the Ferry (R)evolution. By 2022, there will be so many electric ferries operating in Norway that the annual emission cut will be equal to that of 150,000 cars.

DEME has concepted a new Twin Hull SOV (Service Operation Vessel) for Windfarm Operations together with Vuyk Engineering Rotterdam and Marin and the keel laying of the vessel already concluded at Cemre Shipyard in December last year.
