Inter Atlantic is a newbuild well-boat delivered to Norwegian company Intership by Zamakona Yards in Spain. This state-of-the-art live fish carrier was designed to provide salmon farmers in Scotland and Canada with unique innovations for efficient and eco-friendly operations. REDCAI, SA, a partner of Zenitel, delivered an integrated critical communication system for this modern vessel.
Inter Atlantic — designed with fish welfare and biosecurity in focus
The modern well-boat built by Zamakona Yards is 72.2 meters in length and has a load capacity of 2,200 m³. It is equipped with a breakthrough RO unit designed to produce 5,000 m³ of fresh water per day. The Inter Atlantic provides the highest quality of live fish handling and transportation with its innovative fish handling system from MMC First Process.

REDCAI, SA and Zenitel created and delivered a modern onboard communication hub where all systems, including consoles, navigation, and external communications, seamlessly work together. The Inter Atlantic is equipped with:
- Batteryless Telephone System (VSP)
The Batteryless Telephone System, VSP, from Zenitel is independent of the vessel's power supply and fulfills the demands for emergency communication between vital positions. On a fishing vessel, this is typically between the bridge and engine control room (ECR) as well as working spaces on deck and inside e.g., the factory. The Batteryless VPS System offers:
- 12 lines, 20 lines, and EX-approved units.
- Units for both indoor and outdoor use.
- A range of accessories such as plugboxes, headsets, junction boxes, and more.

We delivered an integrated type-approved, cost-effective PA and GA solution for Inter Atlantic. This system offers the use of SPA loudspeaker loops together with integrated ACM units for outstanding cost-efficiency. The solution covers all necessary areas onboard the well-boat and ensures excellent reliability.
- Integrated communication system ACM
This solution for modern vessels provides the crew with IP telephony and web management options. The system offers high-quality two-way communications and excellent mobility onboard with the support of a wide range of maritime communication terminals, including IP and wireless.
