Zenitel is proud to celebrate the achievements of its third-year Electrical and Electronics Engineering Apprentice, Steven Pile, who recently marked a significant milestone in his career. In early October 2024, Steven attended his Higher National Certificate (HNC) graduation ceremony at Chichester University, an accomplishment that underscores his dedication and the strength of Zenitel’s apprenticeship program.

Steven is one of three Engineering Apprentices employed by Zenitel at its Lewes facility, where he works as an Apprentice Hardware Design and Approvals Engineer. Immersed in the dynamic world of research and development, Steven has honed his practical skills while applying the theoretical knowledge gained through his HNC studies to real-world engineering challenges.

“Steven’s achievements are a testament to his hard work and the strong mentorship culture we foster at Zenitel,” says David Worth, Steven’s line manager and mentor. “As someone who began my career as an apprentice nine years ago, it’s incredibly rewarding to see the next generation of engineers grow and thrive in this field. Apprenticeships are vital to building the foundation for future innovation.”

Zenitel’s apprenticeship program is a cornerstone of its commitment to cultivating engineering talent. By pairing aspiring engineers with experienced professionals, the company ensures that valuable knowledge and expertise are passed from one generation to the next. Steven’s progress exemplifies how this approach equips apprentices with the skills and confidence to contribute to cutting-edge projects.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an innovative team,” says Steven Pile. “Learning from experienced engineers while applying my studies to real engineering problems has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I look forward to continuing my journey with Zenitel and taking on new challenges.”

With one year remaining in his apprenticeship, Steven is well-positioned to advance his career as a highly trained engineer. Zenitel is confident that his journey will inspire future apprentices and reinforce the company’s reputation as a leader in nurturing engineering talent.

“Steven’s success is a reflection of our commitment to developing the next generation of engineers,” says Marc Sellis, HR Manager at Zenitel. “We are proud of all our apprentices and the essential role they play in driving innovation and excellence in our company. This milestone is not only a celebration of Steven’s hard work but also of the value that apprenticeships bring to both individuals and organisations.”
