Exigo installed onboard the vessel Silja Europa

Silja Europa is one of the biggest cruise ferries in the world and the biggest on the Baltic. It serves the busy route between Helsinki and Tallin. The vessel was constructed at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany and completed in 1993.

AS Tallink Grupp, is the leading provider of high quality mini-cruise and passenger transport services in the northern Baltic Sea region. Tallink transports almost 5 million passengers on the Helsinki-Tallinn route, every year. They have a total fleet of 14 vessels, with four vessels serving this route. Recently, the company has invested heavily in renovating all cabins together with some entertainment and passenger areas onboard Silja Europa.

The Exigo retrofit was performed during the vessel`s normal operation, minimizing disruption to daily operations. It involved providing PA/GA covering the entire vessel and over 1 000 passenger cabins.

Systems installed
The state of the art Vingtor-Stentofon Exigo system is designed to meet the specific demands of public address and general alarm systems in maritime, offshore and onshore applications. The certified system is scalable, flexible and programmable, offering a set of standard and optional features. Using IP technology, it meets the requirements of type approvals in the maritime industry and NORSOK requirements in the Oil & Gas industry.

The Vingtor-Stentofon Exigo system can be easily integrated with other systems such as the Vingtor-Stentofon AlphaCom communication platform. This means that the PA/GA system is fully integrated with the Vingtor-Stentofon intercom range and third party systems such as generic IPBX and Radio systems over IP.
