Transport Minister Fiona Hyslop officially inaugurated the newly renovated Scotland's East Linton station, marking another milestone in the widespread adoption of Zenitel PA technology across Scotland's railway network.

The undertaking included the successful implementation of Zenitel's highly acclaimed IPAM400, with dedicated engineers providing on-site support services throughout to ensure deadlines were met.

Scotland's East Linton Station

Reopened to the public in December 2023 following a £15 million refurbishment, Scotland's East Linton Station has now been reintegrated into the national rail network after six decades of disconnection. Situated along the Dunfermline Line, which already utilises Zenitel's iVENCS control and monitoring software, the station joins a network of 65 others equipped with Zenitel's PA systems.

The installation of the new PA hardware was carried out by Kelly Rail, with Zenitel Transportation Solutions engineers working diligently for two nights to support. Their efforts included assisting with remote station PA commissioning and updating the existing iVENCS station management system, crucial for broadcasting train information from ATOS feeds and providing essential listen-in capabilities and night-time volume control from a central location.

With regular train services now reinstated after sixty years, East Linton anticipates over 130,000 journeys within its inaugural year of operation. Zenitel Transportation Solutions' involvement ensures the continued reliability of the railway network, facilitating the 22 daily services operated by ScotRail and Transpennine Express, thus offering commuters a dependable means of transportation.
