Successful FAT for Equinor CCTV system
Nor Electronics, a subsidiary company of Zenitel, has recently completed a successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for Equinor in the Nor Electronics Kristiansund office.
The FAT for the Equinor CCTV system was for Equinor's Mongstad plant.
Equinor will replace existing analog CCTV infrastructure with a complex and sophisticated IP infrastructure, making all new cameras an IP Camera complying with the ONVIF standard.
Equinor Mongstad has a wide network of cameras used for process control, perimeter and gate surveillance and ISPS quays and loading/offloading activities. Many of the cameras used are Explosion Proof, meaning they are certified for use in hazardous areas.
The right choice for Equinor CCTV
One of the major success factors for awarding the contract to Nor Electronics was the flexibility demonstrated during the bid phase including;
- The feasibility to control cameras on control rooms large display screen, interacting with complex Matrox Mura Video Wall
- The detailed plan to replace the existing system with the new without downtime
- The equipment and components are assembled in two full size cabinets including full redundancy including 2 x 32TB of Network Video Recorder capacity. Video Management Software is Milestone XProtect Expert.
The Equinor Mongstad refinery is the largest in Norway and the production consists of petrol, diesel and aviation fuel. The Mongstad Crude Oil Terminal is an important instrument in the Norwegian export of crude oil. During 2019, the oil from Johan Sverdrup field will be landed at Mongstad. A part of Mongstad plant is to process NGL (Natural Gas Liquids) into products such as naphtha, propane and butane. Mongstad harbor is one of the largest oil and production harbors in Europe with more than 1500 vessels calling every year.
