Bermuda School chooses STENTOFON

Vingtor-Stentofon School Project Bermuda

Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory in the North Atlantic Ocean, located 1,030 kilometres off the east coast of the United States. Despite lying nearer to the United States and to Canada, to both of which it historically had political and trade links, than to the Caribbean, Bermuda became an associate member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) in 2003.

Secured environment for learning

Saltus Grammar School is a high achieving co-educational, independent day school educating students between the ages of 4 and 18. It is the premier independent school in Bermuda and enjoys an excellent reputation in the international community. The school is located in the capital of Bermuda, Hamilton. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) in North America and is an accredited member of CAIS (Canadian Accredited Independent Schools). The school has provided children with a unique nurturing school environment since 1888.

Together with the local partner Universal Electric, Zenitel Caribbean has commissioned a Vingtor-Stentofon system in the Saltus Grammar School which included 99 Turbine TCIS-6 stations and several desktop stations. The Vingtor-Stentofon stations integrate with the Lenel Access Control system. The main purpose for the system is to add a high level of security to the school’s environment. Many stations have cameras connected, which is all managed through the Lenel system.

The school had planned a second phase, which would include adding a PA system. However due to the amazing sound pressure level and the crystal clear audio of the Turbine stations, this phase will now be limited to adding only a very small number of IP speakers in some public spaces where two-way communication is not needed; generating huge savings for the school’s budget.
