Zenitel Secures Princess Juliana International Airport in St. Maarten
Zenitel's TCIV-2+ IP intercoms are securing the parking areas for the Princess Juliana International Airport, which is the main airport on the Caribbean Island of Saint Maarten.

Princess Juliana International Airport is the main airport on the Caribbean Island of Saint Maarten. The airport is located on the Dutch side of the island, in the country of Saint Maarten, close to the shore of Simpson Bay Lagoon.
The airport, which is named after Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, serves as a hub for Winair and is the major gateway for the smaller Leeward Islands, including Anguilla, Saba, Saint Barthélemy, and Saint Eustatius.
Because of increased passenger traffic and the expected growth of passenger traffic in the near future, Princess Juliana International Airport is being heavily modernized following a three-phased masterplan, which began in 1997.
The three phases include an upgrade to existing facilities, such as a new radar facility and a new air traffic control tower, the construction of a new and modern terminal to handle 2.5 million passengers per year, and the construction of a full parallel taxiway system.
In 2024, a reconstructed check-in area and a new arrival hall were opened, featuring improved baggage handling systems, and streamlined immigration and customs processes.

Clear Communications for Remote Parking
As with many airports, Princess Juliana International Airport's parking areas and lots are remotely located from the main terminal. Airport security is responsible for all people entering and leaving the airport grounds, to include visitors, travelers, contractors and vendors, employees, and more, particularly when they use the payment machines at the parking entrances and exits.
C3 - Critical Communication Caribbean International, which is a Zenitel Center of Excellence, worked with airport security and installed 25 TCIV-2+ IP video intercoms at key areas in the parking lots. The intercoms are integrated with the airport's telephone system that is tied into to the security operations center.
With the installation of the Zenitel IP video intercoms, all airport visitors at the entrances/exits and payment terminals can receive assistance if there are issues with the payment or with a gate not opening or closing correctly. The selection of an intercom that incorporates video ensures that airport security can also validate that the correct person is requesting support or access.
Zenitel's TCIV-2+ IP video intercoms feature a wide-angle HD camera with excellent low-light performance, advanced audio with noise suppression and echo cancellation, and a durable stainless steel front plate with a single call button. The video intercoms are certified for IP66 and IK10, and fully compatible with Zenitel Connect Pro, ICX-AlphaCom, IC-EDGE, and SIP systems, which ensures seamless integration into any critical communication setup.
The project with C3 Critical Communications and the airport began in June 2025 and was completed in November 2025.

Strengthening Safety and Security

“PJIAE has had the opportunity to work closely with C3 and Access Park during the implementation of our newly upgraded parking solution in St. Maarten,” said Suraj Ramdas, Non-Aeronautical Manager, Commercial Division, for the airport. “As part of this project, we integrated Zenitel intercom devices, with both audio and video, across our parking infrastructure.”
