The MPEG-2 Encoder is a universal solution for receiving analog video streams and compressing them to MPEG-2 for broadcast in IP networks. The MPEG-2 Encoder supports 8 AV inputs  (8 CVBS and 8 unbalanced stereo analog audio channels) and one ASI input, with received streams multiplexing and transmitting over ASI and IP outputs simultaneously. The MPEG-2 Encoder 8000 supports MPEG-2 video encoding as well as audio encoding in MPEG1-LAYER 2, AAC and AC3. Due to its compatibility and integrated design, this device is used extensively in the various digital television broadcast systems.
